Denali is the only national park with working sled dogs and we were lucky to get to visit with them. The sled dogs have been part of the park since it opened and help with park projects including scientific research, transporting building supplies, breaking winter trails, and maintaining a ranger presence the park during the winter. As it was warm the day we visited, we saw only a brief sled dog presentation. We were also able to visit the kennels where they live.
