Dinard

After spending three days in Normandy, we headed to Brittany and began our stay in Dinard and Le Grand Hotel Dinard. Like Deauville, Dinard is a coastal town and holiday destination, sometimes called the "Cannes of the North". During La Belle Epoque (a period of enlightenment and prosperity that began after the Franco-Prussian War and continued until WWI), American and British aristocrats built stunning villas and exclusive hotels on the cliff tops of Dinard, including Le Grand Dinard. Dinard is considered the most "British" of all of France's coastal resort towns and even today, many of its vacationers are from England. The town has several beasutiful beaches, as well as path along most of the coast called Le Chemin de Ronde, part of which we walked both mornings.

There were so many restaurants and cute shops near our hotel.

Way in the distance, you can see St. Malo, which is just a short ferry ride away.

A better view of St. Malo, as seen during our morning walk.
