On day five, we spent the morning bushwhacking on Kuiu Island in Hallek Harbor, which has the highest black bear density in the world. Despite seeing evidence of bears everywhere, we thankfully didn't see any during our hike. The weather took a nasty turn in the afternoon, so we did a shore walk on Keku Island. It was pouring rain and freezing cold - which made us realize how lucky we were during our trip, as it was the only bad weather we experienced. The day began and ended with pretty big swells, making it a bit difficult to move around on the boat, a bit dicey on the skiff, and falling asleep that night.
